Class descriptions

Tai Chi

Tai chi is a martial art which combines movements, meditation, and deep breathing to help improve focus, reduce stress, and improve your overall health.

Gentle Fitness

Gentle Fitness classes are designed to increase overall strength, flexibility, and balance, mastering movements important to improving the quality of everyday life. We will be increasing your cardiovascular health and range of motion using resistance bands, rubber balls, and other equipment which will give you a healthy workout in a fun and safe environment! Class Activities • 10 minutes: warm-up (including flexibility and stretching) • 30 minutes: strength/balance/cardio training • 5 minutes: cool down


This art instruction, designed for seniors, builds skills using a range of materials and techniques. We will provide you with a means of developing your personal artistic voice, support the triumphs and challenges of being a lifelong learner, and accommodate the particular needs of an elder population of students. Participants go on a museum trip and put on an exhibition of their work.

Chair Yoga & Creative Core

Chair Yoga helps engage your body, calm your mind, and connect with your spirit. With energizing seated and standing yoga poses, breathwork, and meditation, you’ll develop your physical and mental balance and focus. You’ll strengthen and stretch your muscles for better alignment, mobility and confidence that you can take into activities of daily life. Creative Core focuses on movements to work on the core of your body which is an important center for creativity, stability, and confidence. These exercises will help you feel stronger in the center of your body, especially the abdominal and pelvic floor (“Kegel“) muscles, with creative flowing seated and standing exercises from Pilates and belly dance, set to beautiful music.


The instructional class will introduce you to the rules and basic moves of this ancient Chinese game. Whether you are a beginner or just need a refresher, you will enjoy learning to play with friends! Once you’re comfortable on your own, join us in the large room to play!
